The Children’s Day Celebrations at Waleboda Estate.

“Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labour in vain. (Ps.127: 1)The annual children’s day was organized by the Good Shepherd sisters – Child protection programme at waleboda “KurinjiThulirgal” family in a grand manner on the 18th of October 2019.  Rt.Rev.Dr. Cletus Chandra Siri Perera OSB the Bishop of Ratnapura was the Chief Guest of the day.

Venarable Thera. Samanthanna Janaranjana Ramathipathi Meddakanda was the guest of honor and   Rev. Fathers, Rev. Sisters, many principals, Child protection government officers, Police officers and community leaders were present.

We are like a big family with our staff, teachers, and ever members of self-help groups, parents and officers work together to be compassionate, enthusiastic and make an excellent contribution to our children and get them be on their toes.

As Mother Theresa said “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love” so our children did little things with great love.

We intend to own the inherence skills and personalities of the children, we make this event more adorable. So first we had opening of the exhibition. The Lordship inaugurated the exhibition by cutting the ribbon. So there were many art works and creative works exhibited by the children.

The stage programme was started following the exhibition. The children performed beautiful dances, poems and speeches.

The prize distribution ceremony was held and the students who have shown marvelous talents in the whole year became the winners. The children were awarded with certificates and medals. The priests, religious, officers, teachers, parents and children participated in this programme and enjoyed the day.
