Inauguration of the Harmony Centre at Isipathanaramaya, Grandpass
Today, on the 4th of November 2023, marks a significant day for interfaith religious leaders as they celebrate the inauguration of the Harmony Centre at Isipathanaramaya, Grandpass, Colombo 14. This remarkable initiative was spearheaded by Reverend Madampagama Assaji Thero, a highly esteemed figure in our society who has shouldered numerous responsibilities in different fields. The Harmony Centre is a welcoming space open to all interfaith groups committed to working together to promote harmony within the country. Harmony is the pressing need of our time, and upholding unity in diversity is a core principle we aspire to maintain. It is our hope that this Center will be instrumental in realizing this vibrant vision. Reverend Madampagama Assaji Thero has been a tireless advocate for interfaith harmony in Sri Lanka, dedicating over 35 years to this noble cause. The prolonged years of conflict have disrupted the cohesion within our country, and the efforts made by Dharma Shakthi to uphold unity and, particularly, interfaith harmony in Sri Lanka are truly commendable. As Good Shepherd Sri Lanka, we extend our warm wishes and blessings to all those who have worked tirelessly to turn this vision into a reality. Religious leaders have a pivotal role to play in our contemporary society at various levels, and as responsible citizens, we must prioritize the endeavor to build harmony in our nation. In a world riddled with conflicts, establishing a Harmony Centre for the betterment of our people is a monumental task. Life imparts valuable lessons, urging us to reconsider our attitudes and strive for loftier goals, emphasizing the importance of generosity over selfishness. Together, we can make this world a better place by taking action to foster unity, peace, and harmony.
